“Fifteen People in the Blitz”
The Blitz was German’s strategic bombing campaign over England. It lasted from September 7, 1940-May 11, 1941. Overseen by Air Force commander Hermann Goering, it failed to enable Germany to complete its quest to invade Britain. The bravery of Spitfire and other fighter pilots was legendary and it prompted Churchill to call it “Britain’s Finest Hour.” It vividly showed the world the legendary resilience of the British people.
